Religious Education Curriculum Aims
At Sedgeberrow First School, our RE curriculum is designed to help pupils:
1. Make Sense of Beliefs
Pupils will:
- Identify, describe, and explain religious and non-religious beliefs using appropriate vocabulary.
- Understand how beliefs are interpreted differently by individuals and communities.
- Explore sources of authority (texts, teachings, traditions, leaders) and develop skills of interpretation.
2. Understand Impact and Significance
Pupils will:
- Examine how people express beliefs in diverse ways.
- Recognise how beliefs influence actions in daily life, communities, and the wider world.
- Appreciate the significance of different ways of life and expressions of meaning.
3. Make Connections and Reflect
Pupils will:
- Reflect thoughtfully and creatively on key concepts and questions.
- Challenge and be challenged by the ideas studied, articulating their own beliefs and values.
- Connect ideas studied to their own understanding of the world, expressing personal reflections with clarity.
