How we support our families

Inclusion and Wellbeing at Sedgeberrow First School

At Sedgeberrow First School, we value every child and celebrate the unique qualities that make each individual special. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where differences are embraced, and every pupil feels safe, supported, and empowered to thrive.

We believe that nurturing children's mental health and wellbeing is fundamental to their overall development and success. When children feel emotionally secure and mentally well, they are more able to engage in learning, build positive relationships, and develop resilience for life’s challenges. Our approach is rooted in the understanding that wellbeing is not just an add-on—it is the foundation upon which academic achievement and personal growth are built.

To support this vision, we have a dedicated Inclusion and Wellbeing Team who work closely with children, families, and staff to ensure every child receives the care and support they need:

  • Mrs Bayes – Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCO)
    NASENCO Award (2015)

  • Mr Phil Croke – Wellbeing Coordinator

  • Mrs Clelland – Play Therapist

  • Mrs Payne – Speech and Language Specialist Support Teacher
Supports children with speech, language, and communication needs.

  • Mrs Gibbons – Talking and Drawing Practitioner
Uses creative therapeutic techniques to help children express and process emotions.

  • Mr Croke – Wellbeing Support
