Pupil Parliament

Sedgeberrow C of E First School’s Pupil Parliament

At Sedgeberrow, we believe that every child’s voice matters. Our Pupil Parliament is a dynamic group of elected students who represent the views of their peers and help shape the future of our school.

school parliament is a group of students elected to represent the views of all pupils and to improve our school. At Sedgeberrow, our Pupil Parliament is built on leadership, responsibility, resilience, and pupil voice.

We have three ministries, each with a specific focus:

  • Ministry of Curriculum and Education – helping shape learning experiences and sharing feedback on what helps pupils thrive.
  • Ministry of Events – planning and organising school-wide activities, celebrations, and competitions.
  • Ministry of Charity – leading fundraising efforts and supporting causes that matter to our school community.

Our Pupil Parliament:

  • Represents the Student Voice: Members gather ideas and feedback from their classmates and present them to Mr Croke.
  • Leads with Responsibility: They help organise special events, run competitions, and contribute to school improvement.
  • Promotes Resilience and Attainment: Through teamwork, planning, and problem-solving, members grow in confidence and learn to persevere.
  • Celebrates Ownership and Pride: The Parliament is entirely driven by the children’s own ideas and actions, with support from Mrs Philpott.

Being part of the Pupil Parliament helps children develop leadership, communication, and collaboration skills while making a real difference in their school.
