Harriett Baldwin DBE MP Visit 2026
Harriett Baldwin, MP for West Worcestershire, enjoyed a warm welcome during her recent visit to Sedgeberrow CE First School. Her morning began in our preschool, where she spent time meeting our youngest learners. She chatted with the children, observed their activities, and spoke with staff about early years provision. The children were delighted to show off their play areas and proudly shared what they had been learning.
Following this, Mrs Baldwin visited our Year 5 class for a lively and engaging discussion about Parliament and the importance of democracy. She explained her role as a Member of Parliament, how laws are made, and why every voice matters in shaping the country’s future. The pupils took full advantage of the opportunity to ask thoughtful questions about how decisions are made and what it’s like to work in Westminster.
The session took an especially fun turn when the conversation drifted to football teams. Year 5 were eager to compare their favourite teams. The friendly exchange added a personal touch to the visit and left the class buzzing long after she had left.
Mrs Baldwin’s visit was an inspiring experience for pupils across the school and preschool. It offered a valuable glimpse into public life, encouraged curiosity about democratic processes, and strengthened our commitment to nurturing informed, confident young citizens.
